Payroll Manager

Full Time – Permanent

South Lanarkshire

£30,000 - £35,000 DOE


Brightwork are delighted to be supporting our key client, a market leading FMCG business based in South Lanarkshire. The company has experienced substantial growth in recent years, both organically and through ongoing acquisitions. This is a key role, where the newly appointed team member will be responsible for managing the business’ payroll department, ensuring accurate and timely payment to all employees while maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

The Role

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process for all employees, across multiple sites.
  • Maintain and update payroll records, including employee data, tax withholding, and benefit contributions.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure departments are in line with integration
  • Ensure full compliance in line with legislation and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit all payroll reports
  • Respond to payroll enquiries from employees and external stakeholders.
  • Responsible for process improvement through implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Perform regular audits of payroll processes to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Ensuring that you remain up to date with current legislation to ensure best practices in payroll management.

The Person

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices in the UK.
  • Experience with payroll software and HR systems; ideally with Sage
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Professional certification in payroll management (e.g., CIPP) would  be an advantage
