Brightwork are currently recruiting an exciting opportunity for an experienced material planner to join our client, a renowned maufacturer in their site in Ayrshire on a full time, permanent basis.
The material planner will take day to day accountability for Scheduling and Expediting components against SAP MRP requirements. This is in line with the business/customer production and sales orders. The role also provides continuous support in the development of the Planning and Procurement activities to support Inventory Targets
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all relevant Master data and Procurement parameters are accurate and updated on MRP system.
- Planning and scheduling deliveries of specific purchased products to meet the demands of our forecast.
- Schedule new product introductions and ensure material is available whilst controlling timely run-out of old materials in conjunction with the Planning, Marketing and Commercial teams.
- Buying and negotiation of materials
- Measurement and reporting of supplier service level objectives
- Continuous improvement projects aimed at implementing best practice procurement processes to lower costs
Experience:
- Experience working within an FMCG environment
- Experience working within a Materials Planning environment would be advantageous
- Ability to plan activities, meet assigned schedules and achieve planned targets & objectives
- Strong commercial awareness
- Good understanding of MRP / ERP systems and Competency in the use of Microsoft packages, excel, word etc
- High degree of flexibility with good problem solving and communication skills
