The role – Container Transport Planner

Based at the busy Linwood site, you will have a key role in planning and manage the operation of a fleet of vehicles and drivers, coordinating inbound and outbound deliveries and collections, ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering strong communication with the company depots to maintain an effective support network across all locations.

Your duties and responsibilities will include;

  • Operational planning and scheduling for all operational activities and Container Transport planning
  • Prioritising workload and route planning
  • Effectively responding to and managing and alterations or issues affecting operational activities
  • Daily driver brief and de-briefing
  • Liaising with sub-contractors and suppliers
  • Liaising with and providing an effective service to all internal and external stakeholders

You will have a wealth of experience managing UK wide container planning and be well versed in undertaking and managing operational planning and scheduling. Possessing excellent communication skills, you will be well versed in effectively reacting to operational change requirements in a professional and composed manner. You will have proven experience in container traffic planning including the use of Port VBS systems, a working knowledge of RoadRunner is advantageous, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook essential.

The hours of work are full time based over Monday to Friday with participation in a weekend rota, reasonable flexibility is expected in order to meet the requirements of the business, particularly at peak operational periods.
